New reservations booked

We are starting to get itchy feet here in Silver Springs and it will soon be time to move on (March 20 to be exact). Today I made some new reservations starting with 3 days at Grayton Beach up in the Florida panhandle before we move out of the state and onto the Mississippi's Gulf coast for two weeks just outside Biloxi. And then the one I think we are the most excited about is the week after that (April 6), we are booked  into an RV park in downtown New Orleans just a few miles from the French Quarters. Woo hoo!

Well we don't have anything planed for today but it is getting pretty warm out there so we may go for a swim later so I better get out of here "Remember keep your stick on the ice" talk to you later.

State Parks part 2

Teresa and Victor had to travel to Georgia today so we volunteered to look after their dog Tipsy and wait for some new furniture they were having delivered.

So I thought "hey good time to get a little more caught up with our blog". As I mentioned in the title, this is the second part of our state park visits and is the story of our travels to Homosassa Springs State Park Wildlife Preserve, home for many of Florida's exotic birds, Gators and the Manatee.

It was sure a beautiful day and we spent the time exploring the trails that lead us to many of their exhibits  through out the park and ended the day with a nice picnic lunch right on the grounds.

State Parks part 1

Okay lets see if I can catch up a little since it been almost two weeks since our last post. We have of coarse been busy traveling around to a few of the State parks and taking in all the gorgeous sights they have to offer starting with Rainbow State park in Dunnellon.

Nola at the entrance to Rainbow Springs State Park

This was such a beautiful place as we passed many waterfalls as we ventured down the winding trails through the park snapping pictures all along the way.

That's all the time I have for now I will try to get back here tomorrow.

Daytona 500

Well go figure who would have thought Nola was going to pick the win in the Daytona 500 before it started, and she didn't even watch it lol. Teresa and her went shopping while Victor and I watched the race on the big screen and made some serious plans to go to the races next year. That evening we all had a big feast of Lees fried chicken with all the fixins. Wow another great day in Florida.
Today was a nice quiet one with not much happening, we just stayed around the RV and watch the clouds roll by and followed the weather warnings with a tornado watch for our county. Later in the afternoon we got to contact the family back home and had a nice chat. Well leftovers tonight one of my favorites the last of the pulled pork for the other night.
Well I better get out of here "have good one and keep your stick on the ice"  By the way no tornado touch downs thank god.

The Webster flea market

Saturday morning already "wow were did the week go". I guess when you are as busy as we have been this week time flys. We started the week with a great barbecue at Adam's, the weather was a little chilly (45F) but that didn't stop us.

                                                                  Shelley and Justin
                                                                 Teresa Justin and Shelley
                                                                             Victor
Tinely is trying on all the grown up shoes lol

Well when we got home Sunday night the refrigerator had stopped again, this has been an ongoing saga since we left home. I tried all the usual things I have been doing to re-start it but no luck.Since this was not the first time it has stopped and everything was still frozen, we just went to bed and thought I would deal with it in the morning.
Monday morning and I am up early to check on the  frig but it is still not working. The food is still  frozen solid as the freezer seems to hold the temperature pretty good so we decided to stay with our plans we had made last week to go to Webster Flea Market with Teresa. The frig could wait and I would call a repair man when we got back.
First stop on our way is to pick up Teresa and then its off to the flea market. For those of you that don't know about Webster it  is around 50 miles south of Ocala and hosts one of Florida's largest flea markets with over 4000 venders. I pulled Annabelle in to the parking lot about 9:30 and there was already about 4 or 5 thousand people there. The weather was shaping up to another warm sunny day. Wow so much to see and a lot of great prices and of coarse Nola and Teresa found things to buy lol.

Home from the flea market and ready to call my RV repair guy and guess what "the frig is running" go figure it sure is a mystery to me.
Tuesday we decide to to stay close to home and enjoy the pool and do some swimming.

Wildness Town Park pool 1 of 3
                                                                Nola at the club house
Nola showing off her skills at a different pool in the rec center

Thursday morning we loaded up Annabelle with the loungers and the cooler and we are off to Honey Moon Island just outside of Clearwater which is about an hour and half south of here. The beaches on the island were a little rocky and for sure a bite disappointing to us, so as they say "the honeymoon is over" and we left there for the sandier shores of Clearwater Beach just a few miles away. Much better!

Well I better get out of here it is way to nice out there to be stuck on this computer so remember "keep our stick on the  ice" talk to you later

Happy Valentine Day

We have been pretty busy the last few days so I haven't had much of a chance to update the blog until now. On Valentines day Teresa dropped by with her Granddaughter Tinely on their way home from daycare, what a nice surprise. She is such a cute little girl and she brought Nola a Carnation and wished us a happy Valentine Day. Later in the day I took Nola out for some Chinese food then it was off to an auction in Ocala with our niece Shelley.

On Saturday Shelley came by and picked us up to take us site seeing through the Ocala National Forest at the Juniper Springs State Park. This sure was a beautiful spot with many picturesque sites and several natural springs bubbling out of the ground that we discovered as we walked the trails. Of coarse after all that walking we needed to go for some lunch and stopped at an out of the way restaurant called "Kickin Back" the food was great. What an awesome day thank you Shelley.

Up about 8:00 this morning put the coffee on and out for a walk with Dazey Mae. Looks like we may get some rain and the wind has picked up quite a bit, so first thing on the agenda after getting a coffee is to put the awning in.The weather channel is even calling for the possibility of hail for some area's of northern Florida oh well I guess everyday can't perfect lol.
I though I might take this time to get a little more caught up with our travels so here we go. About 2 weeks ago we were out driving around looking at RV parks and pulled into one that was on my list to have a peek. The first thing we noticed was the local police were there "this can't be good right" but in this case it was our nephew Adam a police officer with the city of Ocala, how cool is that. And of coarse Nola had to get a picture with him in his uniform, we are very proud of him. Well I guess that parks off the list.

Later that afternoon we stop at Teresa and Victor's and went out for supper at Wise Guys, a nice little Italian restaurant  not to far from their house.
                                                                    Nola and Teresa

Well I think its time to get moving here.
Remember " Keep your stick on the ice" drop by again
