Winter Garden RV Resort

Well after 6 weeks of gallivanting around Florida at various Thousand Trails locations we decided to settle in at Winter Garden RV resort for the rest of the winter. We got a nice spot right across from the pool where Patches could watch us swim while sitting up at the side window.

Visit with Vic and Kim at there home in South Carolina

After Mayberry we headed for our nephews place just outside Columbia South Carolina. The road into their place is called Wild Turkey Lane and believe me it was wild. I wish I had taken pictures but I was to busy navigating our way in with our motor home (Seemore) there was no time for pictures. Boy when they say lane they were not kidding I just had to keep going hoping our GPS (Martha) wasn't steering us wrong and sure enough there it was. Wow what a beautiful home and amazing property.

Just off to the left you can see Seemore all setup for the night
                                               Nola & Vic
Relaxing by the fire pit

It was a great visit thank you Kim and Vic for your southern hospitality time to head further south :)

Happy New Year

Well its been more than a month since I've hit the computer keys in here so with out further ado its time for an up date.
Where do I start. Okay we arrived in Florida on Dec. 3rd and spent our first 4 days in Wildwood not to far from Ocala so we were able to visit with some of Nola's family that we hadn't seen for a while.

We had reservations for Thousand Trails Orlando for December 7th so we hit the road bright and  early Monday morning. It wasn't too long of a drive but we wanted to get there early because they don't assign you a site it's a first come first serve system so early is good.

Chess or Checkers any one these are the biggest game boards I've ever seen

Nola keeping Patches out of the cactus tree

We spent Christmas Day with the gang back in Ocala while we where staying at an Escappees park in Bushnell. It was a bit of a drive but that was the closest spot we could get in one of our membership parks.

Well as Willie says on the road again. We set out for Orange City RV for the month of January were we got a great deal for 1/2 price on a black Friday sale. It was nice and close to Daytona Beach so we would get to spend some time with our friends Dave and Pam.

The New Years ball ready to drop in down town Daytona

                                                                   Main Street Daytona

Happy New Year with our good friends

Our neighbours from Blueberry also came for a visit while we where there, it was nice to see more familiar faces from home. We had a nice day with them starting with a visit to the Voulisa Flea Market and then lunch and a ride on New Smyrna Beach .

Well it's  time to get moving here so remember "keep your stick on the ice" and thanks for stopping by.

Charleston

We are staying in a Thousand Trails park just outside Charleston, so Tuesday morning seemed like a good day weather wise to take a drive there and take in some of the sites. A horse and buggy carriage tour ended up being our choice of transportation for a scenic ride through the city with all of it old charm.

                                                                 Nola checking out our ride
The 90 minute tour took us through some of the oldest parts of the city and our guide Janice has been doing this for quite a few years now and gave us a lot of information on the history of Charleston including all the juice gossip of Charleston's early days.

We had a great day of exploring Charleston and now it time to head back to camp and get ready for a travel day tomorrow, next stop Wildwood Florida. Thanks for stopping by and above all else remember "keep your stick on the ice"

Myrtle Beach

After Virginia we headed down to Myrtle Beach for a week to meet up with our friends Teresa and Victor to celebrate the American Thanksgiving and take in a Christmas show at the Alabama Theatre.

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach and we stayed at the state park right on the ocean "very nice"

Great fishing pier right in the park

Patches heading for the beach looking back to see what's the hold-up

Patches was having a nice walk on the beach when he noticed a group of horseback riders trotting by and had a look of "what the heck was that".

It was double celebration at the restaurant The House of Blues. Teresa and Victors 45th anniversary and Thanksgiving. The meal was fabulous with turkey and all the trimmings buffet.

It was also a nice surprise to see our nephew Vic Jr. and his wife Kim who also came in for the weekend with their new 5th wheel.

Saturday night we had tickets to see the Broadway style show a Christmas Musical but hay anybody that knows me would probably think I was thinking Bah Humbug, But it was really quite an entertaining performance and we really enjoyed it.

Well thanks for stopping by I better get out of here today is a travel day not to far though just 160 miles down the road to Charleston "keep your stick on ice"
