The summer at Blueberry Hill

Boy oh boy the time is just flying by " October 23rd already" the only good thing about that is we are starting to think about our winter plans and getting excited at the thought of being back on the road again.
Since our move to Blueberry in July we have had a pretty busy summer with our family and friends visiting with us.

Blueberry Hill Campground is just a few miles north of Sault Ste. Marie and we have made this our home park and plan to spend the summer months here. Below Madison and Nola show how the park got its name with its abundance of blueberry's in the bushes and on the side of the trails all around the park.

Mackenzie getting ready to take a dip in the pool
Jason and Dad having a friendly game of washer toss

In August my sister Linda drove up from Wasaga Beach to spend a week with us at Blueberry and visit with friends and relatives she has not seen in a long time. Below are a few pictures of a great lunch visit with our cousin Sharon and her daughter Nicole and her two girls.

Nola had her niece Shelley from Florida come for a visit at the end of August and we spent one day driving along the beautiful shores of Lake Superior and taking pictures.

Shelley getting some pictures of Chippewa Falls

Nola and her sister Betty here for visit

And of coarse as the summer went on Danielle was eyeing up the mule and finally told dad she was ready to drive.

Below is our area weather station and boy it sure comes in handy sometimes

Can you tell me what the major difference in these to pictures is lol
Snow Dam its only October

Well I better get out of here and I promise I will try  to keep this thing up to date "honest" and above all remember "keep your stick on the ice" talk to you all soon.

July

Well I guess you probably figured out by now that I have really been slacking off on my blog duties, okay but I have been pretty busy.
Danielle's first ride in Seemore on our way home from Wasaga Beach
Uncle John with his new niece Danielle
Richards family picture taken in Linda's family room

After we got back from our travels in Southern Ontario and got the gang all home we thought it would be a good time to do a little interior maintenance on Seemore before our summer adventures.
We must have looked at a dozen flooring options before we finally agreed on a vinyl interlocking tile to replace the carpet and cushion floor in the living room/kitchen area. We also put a new backsplash in the kitchen that Nola has been searching for and finally found in one of the local hardware stores.

                                                                    Floor project
                                                                 finished floor
                                                                          New Back-splash
On the 6th of July we headed over to Brimley for nine days before we park Seemore for the rest of the season at Blueberry Hill RV park. When we pull into Brimley we had a surprise visit from some friends of ours Norm & Nancy and Jack & Dorthy who follow our blog. They were camped just down the road at Bay-mills RV park in Norm's newly acquired Bounder, it was sure a nice surprise to see them.
Our campsite just across from friends of ours Donnie & Linda

                                           Donnie Christin and Emily
                                                                        Linda & Donnie

And look who stopped in at Brimley for a visit on their travels to the north from Florida wow what a great surprise.
                                                               Nola, Teresa and Danielle
                                                                          Victor

Got to go for now next time I will post some pictures of Blueberry even though it July remember to "keep your stick on the ice" and thanks for stopping by.

Southern Ontario

Wow we have been in Southern Ontario already for about 3 weeks now and we are currently at Bronte Provincial Park in Oakville "time sure fly's when your having fun".

Nola next to the wild flowers (Phlox) growing beside our site
                                                                        Our Site

I finally got Annabelle fixed today in Burlington at a garage I had been dealing with for a long time when we lived here "great job Sonic Auto". A few other auto shops could not seem to diagnose the problem correctly. After I dropped  the car off I stopped over at the lab were I use to work for a visit with all of the gang I worked with not so long ago. It was great to see all the familiar faces and share some of my travel story's with them.
We have a few more people we are going to visit tomorrow before we move on to Winona Friday were we are going to park Seemore at our friends James and Carol-Anne. It will be nice to see them as we have not seen them since the start of winter trip " and yes James I am going to get some more of that free 120" see you Friday.
Well got to get out of here were going out for dinner and a movie, and of coarse remember "keep your stick on the ice" talk to you later.

Home

I thought it was time to get back here and let you guys know we are back in Ontario now actually for about 2  weeks already . We have been so busy with family and friends that I haven't had much of a chance to get on the blog to do any updates.

.
Nola with the newest addition to our family our granddaughter Danielle, isn't she just gorgeous.

Next week we are back on the road again and heading for Wasaga Beach to visit my sister. We are also hoping to get over to Hamilton sometime during our trip to see our friends James and Carol-Anne. The plan is to stay in Southern Ontario until our granddaughters Madison and Mackenzie fly in from Newfoundland and we will pick them up and then return home for the summer.
Madison was telling me on the phone yesterday she can not wait to go back to our summer camping spot in
Brimely Mi.

Brimely State Park in early May not quite ready yet with still a little bit of snow on the ground.

Well I got to get going here but as always remember "keep your stick on the ice" good advice for the Leafs tonight lol. Talk to you later

Memphis Zoo

When we got up Wednesday morning  it looked like it was going to be another nice day so we decided to go to the Memphis Zoo. Nola had heard that they had Panda bears there and thought this would be a good opportunity to see them.

A Panda having a lunch of bamboo twigs

                                                             sleepy Monkey
The Grizzly Bear den  and swimming time in the pictures below

                                                                 Polar Bear den

We will be leaving the Memphis area on Saturday morning and starting our way further north with plans to be back in Sault Ste Marie by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Wow the time sure goes by so quickly it just seems like yesterday we started out on the journey south, but we are looking forward to seeing our family and especially our new Granddaughter.

Well I got to get going here we are going to check out a river boat excursion on the Mississippi, I'll talk to ya'll later and remember "keep your stick on the ice"

Memphis Home of the Blues

Yesterday morning we headed out on a 7 hour excursion with City Line Blues Tours, to take in all the sites and sounds of Memphis.
Our first stop on the tour is at the Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis and is the home of the world famous marching ducks. They told us that these ducks are pretty quick on the red carpet so if you want a picture you have to be fast.

Well apparently I'am not fast enough on the camera button as you can see in the picture above, but trust me they did go by. Fortunately someone else got the shot in the picture below.

At the end of the carpet they jump in the fountain for a swim.

Next stop Sun Studio's home of many recording legends like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison just to name a few.

In the Sun Studios cafe the stools in the pictures below all have famous names engraved on them.

Can you guess which stool Nola is sitting on in the picture below?
Well if you guessed Elvis you win the prize to be named some time later in the Blog.

This bridge joins Tennessee and Arkansas crossing the Mississippi River and is nick named the Dolly Parton bridge, "I'am not sure why". Maybe someone can figure it out for me and post it in comments!!
Elvis status at the visitor center
A few fellow tourist having lunch with us B.B. King's Restaurant & Bar on Beale Street. Hanna's the dude in the checkered shirt sitting next to Nola traveled all the way from Sweden to see Graceland, wow now that's a fan.

Nola with the Godfather of Blues 91 years young Clyde Hopkins
Clyde,s brass note of fame embedded in the sidewalk on Beale Street along with about 90 others like Elvis just to name one.

After a great lunch at B.B. King's we were off to Graceland for the last half of our tour. This is the part of the day Nola has been waiting  36 years for, so I guess you could say she has been pretty patient. Below are several pictures of our tour.
                                                                        Graceland

This was a great day and ended with our tour guide dropping us off at our RV park in Robinsonville just outside Memphis.
Well it's that time I better get going here so remember "keep your stick on the ice" talk to y'all  later.
