Charleston

We are staying in a Thousand Trails park just outside Charleston, so Tuesday morning seemed like a good day weather wise to take a drive there and take in some of the sites. A horse and buggy carriage tour ended up being our choice of transportation for a scenic ride through the city with all of it old charm.

                                                                 Nola checking out our ride
The 90 minute tour took us through some of the oldest parts of the city and our guide Janice has been doing this for quite a few years now and gave us a lot of information on the history of Charleston including all the juice gossip of Charleston's early days.

We had a great day of exploring Charleston and now it time to head back to camp and get ready for a travel day tomorrow, next stop Wildwood Florida. Thanks for stopping by and above all else remember "keep your stick on the ice"

Myrtle Beach

After Virginia we headed down to Myrtle Beach for a week to meet up with our friends Teresa and Victor to celebrate the American Thanksgiving and take in a Christmas show at the Alabama Theatre.

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach and we stayed at the state park right on the ocean "very nice"

Great fishing pier right in the park

Patches heading for the beach looking back to see what's the hold-up

Patches was having a nice walk on the beach when he noticed a group of horseback riders trotting by and had a look of "what the heck was that".

It was double celebration at the restaurant The House of Blues. Teresa and Victors 45th anniversary and Thanksgiving. The meal was fabulous with turkey and all the trimmings buffet.

It was also a nice surprise to see our nephew Vic Jr. and his wife Kim who also came in for the weekend with their new 5th wheel.

Saturday night we had tickets to see the Broadway style show a Christmas Musical but hay anybody that knows me would probably think I was thinking Bah Humbug, But it was really quite an entertaining performance and we really enjoyed it.

Well thanks for stopping by I better get out of here today is a travel day not to far though just 160 miles down the road to Charleston "keep your stick on ice"

Chesapeake Bay

Moved down the road the other day to Chesapeake Bay RV Resort the kind of travel day I like 40 miles and we are here. Very nice park and not to busy this time of year but I am guessing it crazy busy in the summer months.

This has got to be the biggest maple leaf I've ever seen

Nola said it my turn to get get in the picture

Seemore all set up for the next week or so at a spot next to the water

A nice long dock here where I have seen some people fishing
Patches is really liking it here lots of trails for him to explore
As I mentioned earlier not to busy here lots of empty spots

We don't have much planned for our time here except some  R and R and of coarse the odd Tequila in the afternoon for happy hour but hey that's what this lifestyle is all about.
Stop by anytime and above all else "keep your stick on the ice" over and out.

Williamsburg Virginia

Well after 3 long days of driving we arrive here in Williamsburg VA and staying at a Thousand Trails membership park 3 buck a night you got to love that price even in US dollars. We are here for 4 nights.

It was shaping up to be a beautiful day with temperature around 24 C (75 F)  so we headed in to see the Historic District and take a walk through some of the original settlement of Williamsburg with all the colonial buildings and many of the local shop keepers dressing the part of the early 1600'S.

"All aboard" here are a couple of ways to see the sights

I guess I should have paid for my parking spot

Patches though he would get in on the action too

Okay I got to run for now stop by any time and remember "keep your stick on the ice" over and out

Sunday 18 October 2015

Oh no not that four letter word "snow"

Well we weren't figuring on the that this early but hey this is Northern Ontario so anything is possible. That's okay though Patches has never seen snow before and was having a ball this morning running and playing in it. Luckily we got most of our outside work done and took the gazebo down the weekend before, and got all the outdoor furniture covered for the season.

Poor Anne belle snow on her roof

Not really to much of the white suff but that's all I what to see

The gazebo all ready for winter

The good news is 13 more sleeps and we are out of here and heading south. Thanks for tuning in and remember "keep your stick on the ice".
